Questions
Do I need a server?
Yes. Kale plays the library on a Jellyfin server that you, or someone in your household, already runs. It has no content of its own.
Does Kale change anything on my server?
Nothing is installed on it. Kale uses the server's own people, libraries and settings, and anything you change in Kale, like someone's limits or where you're up to, is saved on the server just as it would be from any other app.
What does Kale collect?
Nothing, unless you turn on problem reports in Settings. The privacy page has the whole list.
Does it work away from home?
If your household has already set up a way to reach the server from outside, Kale uses the same address. Kale runs no service of its own in between.
